Things To Do

Cabine du Cap caters for all types. Whether you’re built for chilling out, being a tourist or getting some exercise, it’s all there.

Cabine du Cap is situated within a mountainous wealth of Fynbos. To the untrained eye this unique South African vegetation can seem dry and lifeless. But each plant has a story to tell. Dr Sonia Couto will guide you along the wild garden and into “the bush” to share some traditional stories and medicinal uses.

The walk will extend over a two-hour period. On returning, you will be treated to an ice tea made with leaves that you have foraged. The ice tea will be accompanied with a salad from the garden and “braai brodtjies”. You will then have a chance to discuss all the plants that you have seen and to partake in a small, herbal practical.

This workshop is available during the week and weekend.

Time: 10am-2pm.

Cost: R1,750 – up to 6 people

The Klein Karoo knows how to get hot and although Cabine du Cap has a splendid swimming pool, shaded boma and ceiling fan on the cabin deck, we have discovered the Guano Caves resort just down the road. There are tons of exciting things on offer for kids (see here), but best of all is the water park!

They sell food and drinks as well – great fun for all.
